Homemade Chili

Serves 8
3 pounds Kroger ground beef
1 tablespoon Kroger olive oil
1 large onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 cup red wine
5 cans Kroger tomato sauce (15 oz.)
1 can Kroger diced tomatoes, drained
1 packet Kroger chili seasoning
Kroger sour cream (optional when serving)
Kroger shredded cheese (optional when serving)

  1. In a large pot, brown the beef and drain in a strainer.
  2. Reheat the same large pot and add the oil, onions, and green peppers.  Sauté for two minutes.
  3. Add the wine and simmer for one minute.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and chili seasoning.
  5. Turn heat to med-low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often.
  6. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheese (optional).

The addition of red wine in this recipe is the key. Delicious!
