Pound of your favorite Laura’s Lean Beef steak (choose from strip, sirloin, flank, top round, or tenderloin steaks) |
| 1 |
Tablespoon Private Selection Garlic Flavor olive oil |
| 1/2 |
Teaspoon (or to taste) Private Selection Italian Seasoning |
| 1 |
Bag of your favorite salad greens |
| |
Wish-bone® Romano Basil Vinaigrette Dressing |
As with any recipe, you can increase or decrease ingredients or cook time to suit your own tastes.
- Rub the Italian Seasoning all over the steaks.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat for 1 minute, add 1 tablespoon Garlic Flavor oil, swirl to coat, and sear the steaks for 1 minute per side. Turn the heat to medium-low and continue to cook, turning every minute, until done to your liking. Remove the steaks to a plate, cover to keep warm, and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, toss the salad greens with the Romano Basil Dressing.
- Put a mound of dressed greens on one side of each dinner plate. Slice the steak into thin slices (across the grain), and arrange in a “fan” pattern next to the salad. Sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese, if desired. Magnifico!

CHEF’S NOTE: LAURA’S LEAN BEEF. Since its start in 1985, Laura Freeman’s beef has come from two cattle breeds that produce low-fat beef. They’re raised on small family farms without use of antibiotics or growth hormones. Cattle are fed natural grains and grasses, no animal by-products, and every head of cattle can be traced back to the producer. The result is great-tasting beef with just 4-9 grams of fat in a 4-ounce serving.
CHEF’S NOTE: WISH-BONE® DRESSINGS. In 1945, an ex-G.I. named Phillip Sollomi opened a family-style chicken restaurant in Kansas City, MO, named "The Wish-Bone." When he started serving his mother’s spicy salad dressing, customers went wild. Wish-Bone's® fame spread and in 1957 Phil sold the business to Lipton. Today, it’s part of the Unilever company and all the Wish-Bone® dressings are still made in Kansas City, MO.
CHEF’S NOTE: KIKI’S SWEETS is a small, family-owned business in Atlanta. She says her cookies are made without refined sugar, bleached flours, hydrogenated oils, preservatives, and other “scary ingredients.”
